How does it feel? To be overseas with nothing at all but your changes now that you're real and safe and inside? I know you now. No-one between us, it's just you and me, and the hows and whens that you gave us in your retreat. Go to the light. Oceans and tears and the borrowed excuse when you're drifting on with your colourless painting inside. I know you now; Fearless and bald as your changes begin to take hold of you and betray you and everyone else. Go to the light! my little friend there is nothing at all that can take you now that you're followed by everyones eyes. Lights on you now! This ocean is clean, there is nothing at all that can change you now that the trees are all you can see. There are still changes and holy grounds, but the feeling is all you can see. But it feels like you now; we're gone, and fearless -for ever in your faith.

The winter came as she turned away, he had pushed it all too far. And her helplesness was all he ever saw. His ego broke; it was when he woke in his sheets so cold and strange. And the loneliness now sleeping in his arms. The finite love and the cause-effect when he stabbed her lonely heart, it is over now -they will always be apart. The aftermath of a bad mistake -unconcious or awake- can flush you out into the lonely currents, and then you'll know: That confidence is a fragile beast. It changes what you see. When overdosed or absent none will follow. You dissappear. The present changes; so tricky to grasp, but it always is around. His backward movements, and mirrored eyes will long for her, and see her now she's gone. Her finite love wasn't finite at all! He brought it on himself. She left him and his self-destructive currents. These final lines, they are nothing at all; no pleeding or excuse. They're present ghosts, his shame, and that he loves you.

We went down to the midlands, and he stayed behind with my friends. In the car with my brother, and the strange regrets of a child. Stay with us for a while. We are small and caught in your tide. Could you spare some time and explain how it all goes down this way? We arrived in the springtime, in a house too big for just three. We commute as the years pass. We turn strange, and start to drift apart. Stay with us for a while. We are small and caught in your tide. Could you spare some time and explain how it all goes down this way? Stay with us for a while. We are small and caught in your tide. Could you spare some time and explain how it all goes down this way? And I know there's no-one to blame, but I'm a stranded boy anyway.

I wonder if we'll ever go back to the place we love. I wish she'd travell far into the woods. Her words returned along with her smile; sparkling and aware. The thought so clear, the laughter re-appeared. Seen as fragile when it's gone; you'll stay forever in my heart, and we miss your thoughts too. Reminded of the glimpse of time, dance along -in seconds you'll change your mind, and we miss your heart too. She loved the trees, all the animals too. The tiny things she'd see. The wounded bird was helped and then set free. Her ageing was a painful sight; fading all inside. The hopeless truth, and the beauty of our youth. Seen as fragile when it's gone; you'll stay forever in my heart, and we miss your thoughts too. Reminded of the glimpse of time, dance along -in seconds you'll change your mind, and we miss your heart too.

about

The Beauty Of Our Youth is a manifestation of the northern melancholy, derived from the mossy woods and the foggy mountains diving brutally into the sea. It holds some of the spirit inherited from Edvard Grieg, still crossing over from classic-, to soundtrack-, rock- and electronic music.

The album is mixed by Paul Savage (Mogwai, Franz Ferdinand), and graphically shaped by Lasse Hoile (Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson).

Releasing in Norway on September the 27th.
