about

"The first minutes of Youth's closing track, "A Life Well Lived," are exclusively piano, vocals, and strings. After several lyrical passages, a momentary silence falls; distant piano, panned hard left, resumes the theme and gradually gains momentum. First Megård joins on the bass, and then the rest of the band accompany the agonizing build toward the album's final, orchestral climax. Amidst guitar feedback and collapsing rhythms, "A Life Well Lived" appropriately expires, leaving only faint piano to carry out the lingering sentiment into obscurity." -Justin Carlton

lyrics

I wonder if we'll ever go back to the place we love. I wish she'd travell far into the woods. Her words returned along with her smile; sparkling and aware. The thought so clear, the laughter re-appeared.
Seen as fragile when it's gone; you'll stay forever in my heart, and we miss your thoughts too. Reminded of the glimpse of time, dance along -in seconds you'll change your mind, and we miss your heart too.
She loved the trees, all the animals too. The tiny things she'd see. The wounded bird was helped and then set free. Her ageing was a painful sight; fading all inside. The hopeless truth, and the beauty of our youth.
Seen as fragile when it's gone; you'll stay forever in my heart, and we miss your thoughts too. Reminded of the glimpse of time, dance along -in seconds you'll change your mind, and we miss your heart too.
